The third Charity Event of its kind funded by Paddington Development Trust and the New Life for Paddington and organised by Bang Edutainment Ltd.
The New Life Awards aimed at recognising and rewarding young people in and around Paddington for their commitment, hard work and participation in youth clubs and activities. The award ceremony was opened to young people between the ages of 13 – 21 living within the SRB5 area. These areas include Queens Park, Westbourne and Harrow Road Wards, London.
Soulful Ink made the New Life Awards a memorable and spectacular event. We obtained high profile guest speaker, Radio DJ and community activist Henry Bonsu. We also recruited an impressive roster of talented performers, including Ella Jones (Neo-Soul/Jazz Artist), The Heartless Crew, Silent Steps, (the London based dance group), critically acclaimed female saxophonist, Yolanda Brown and stand up comedian, Eddie, both of Black Grape Production. The event was hosted by one of London's funniest men, Mr. Cee. And not forgetting the talented Ms Merci Ogole designer “Merci Me” who provided a ground breaking fashion show.
The brief for New Life Awards was to create an event with community spirit and cohesion; Soulful Ink fulfilled this by bringing in a diversity of local acts in Music and Dance performing in a variety of genres from African Dance, Capoeira, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop and R 'n' B.
With speeches and advice from the Famous Henry Bonsu, Paul Bellamy and the driven and inspiring Ms Jennifer Ogole of Bang-Ed. The night was a unique success and one that celebrate achievements, talents, creative and the community of Paddington.
It was a high energy, up beat, creative celebration of culture, community and teamwork and an inspiration to all the youth and all those involved in the event.

The New Life Awards acknowledged and celebrated the achievements of young people in the Paddington area. A truly inspirational event that represented the best of what Soulful Ink aims to achieve by living through our motto of Inspiring Change.
